Celebrating the work of dung beetles and those who have monitored their abundance since 2014.

Celebrating Dung Beetles Event Flyer Come and help us celebrate! Warren Catchments Council's dung beetle monitoring project, funded through South West Catchments Council with funds from the Australian Government National Landcare Program, is drawing to a close. Eight farming families have undertaken monthly monitoring on their cattle properties to assist in developing a more accurate understanding of species diversity and abundance - and where we have gaps in seasonal activity. The data generated has contributed to a new $13m Rural R&D for Profit federally funded reactivation of the national dung beetle importation programme, in partnership with MLA, several universities and community groups. WCC has a major role in co-ordinating monitoring, release of new species and redistribution of existing species into new areas, as well as setting up demonstration sites and providing farmer support. Come and hear how you could be involved.
